Course Information
Description This course provides a survey of economic systems, forms of business ownership, and considerations for running a business. Students will learn various aspects of business, management, and leadership functions; organizational considerations; and decision-making processes. Financial topics are introduced, including accounting, money and banking, and securities markets. Also included are discussions of business challenges in the legal and regulatory environment, business ethics, social responsibility, and international business. Emphasized is the dynamic role of business in everyday life.

Course Policies
Instructor Policies This course syllabus is for the ONLINE section for the Fall 2019 semester.
The instructor reserves the right to drop any student missing more than two weeks with no online class or lab participation. "Attendance" is monitored as participation and logging into the course.
Assignments are due on the dates provided in Blackboard.
Students are responsible for completing all assigned homework, including reading assignments, by the required due dates.
Attendance Policy Poor attention to detail and keeping a schedule can be a leading reason for termination from a job in all areas of employment. With these factors in mind, the instructor monitors students' course participation daily. In addition, course participation on a regular basis is necessary for proper skill development.
Academic Honesty Academic honesty is expected from all students, and dishonesty in any form will not be tolerated. Please consult the LSC-PA policies (Section IX, subsection A, in the Faculty Handbook) for consequences of academic dishonesty.
